Trading hours
Foreign exchange trades continuously from the Sydney open on Monday morning to the New York close on Friday evening. Index, commodity and share CFDs follow the hours of their underlying exchange, so each has its own session and its own daily break. Selected cryptocurrency pairs are quoted at weekends.

You are trading a contract for difference on the price of the underlying instrument, not the instrument itself. You do not own the share, the barrel or the coin, you receive no voting rights, and dividends are handled as a cash adjustment rather than a payment. In exchange you can take a short position as easily as a long one and you post only margin rather than the full contract value.
